Pedestrian struck by truck Monday

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on US 90 at the intersection of Lime Avenue in Live Oak Monday afternoon, according to reports from Suwannee County Fire Rescue and the Live Oak Police Department.
According to reports, James William Cannington, Live Oak, was driving westbound on US 90 (Howard Street) in a 2001 Dodge 1500 pickup truck around 5:30 p.m. Monday. LOPD reported the pedestrian, Ayron Alouse, 31, Live Oak, “staggered into the path of the truck in an attempt to cross from Lime Avenue to Pepe’s Grocery Store.” Reports state Cannington tried to break and swerve but was unable to avoid striking Alouse, who was thrown a short distance. The pedestrian came to rest in the westbound lane of US 90 in front of Pepe’s Grocery Store, according to SCFR. Alouse received severe injuries but was in stable condition when he was transported to UF Health in Gainesville for treatment, reports read.
Cannington was not found to be at fault for the crash and the Dodge did not receive any damage, according to LOPD.
