2 students receive minor injuries in crash involving school bus

A two vehicle wreck in Suwannee County Tuesday afternoon involving a Suwannee County school bus sent two students to a local hospital for minor injuries, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

Around 3:36 p.m. Tuesday, a 2009 Suwannee County school bus, driven by Haddie Mann, 65, O’Brien, was northbound on CR 137 and was stopped at 216th Street with students on board, waiting to safely cross the road. At the same time, a 2000 Ford F-350, driven by Martin Parris, 30, Wellborn, was traveling northbound on CR 137, approaching the rear of the bus. The front of the Ford impacted the rear of the bus. Both vehicles relocated across the road to the parking lot of the Welcome Congregational Holiness Church.
Parris received no injuries, FHP reported.
There were 35 juvenile students on the school bus and two of them received minor injuries, FHP reported. The school bus driver also received minor injuries.
Parris was cited for careless driving.
