Gary Edwards Leadership Day is May 30

The 3rd annual Gary Edwards Leadership Day will take place in Jacksonville on Saturday, May 30. This free event will provide a chartered bus, free breakfast, and free lunch to tour Johnson & Johnson Acuvue contact lenses manufacturing plant along with a STEM experience and robotic competition. Students will get an introduction to robotics and understand how technology is advancing through STEM careers. Participants will compete against one another in a fun competition using robots. Parents are welcomed to join as well. This event is open to both boys and girls 4th thru 12th grade.

The Gary Edwards Leadership Legacy mission is to provide encouragement and education support to the young people of our community.  Gary Edwards Leadership Legacy was named after Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office Deputy, Gary Edwards  after he was killed by a drunk driver in May 2011. “Gary”, “Baby”, “Daddy”, “Son”, “Unc”, “Po Boy”, “Fly”, “Coach Edwards”, “Brother Edwards”, “O.E.” will live on in his family, friends, colleagues, and the children he touched. The Gary Edwards Leadership Legacy was organized by Suwannee High School graduates, Sherman and Sherwin Riley.

Who: Girls and boys 5th thru 12th grade. Parents are welcome to join!

When: Saturday May 30. Will leave Live Oak at 9 a.m. and return at 4 p.m. back at the Suwannee High football stadium.

Where: Jacksonville (transportation will be provided to Jacksonville). Will meet at Suwannee High football stadium.
