July 8, 1938 – June 10, 2015

Terri Lee Simpson (Maybeline), 76, a resident of Carter House in Advent Christian Village, Dowling Park, Fla., passed away June 10, 2015, in the Good Samaritan Nursing Home after complications from surgery. Born July 8, 1938, in O’Brien, Fla. to Perry Clinton Lee and Ida Mae Lee (nee Pearson), she arrived into this world with her lifelong “other half” and identical twin sister, Jerri. As part of a large family of nine children, she grew up in North Florida and learned the ways of both rural and city life.

After graduating from high school, she moved from Florida to California, where she lived for two years. While there, she competed in the “Miss Malibu” pageant and was crowned runner-up. Terri moved back to Florida where she had the joy of experiencing work in several fields. She received a nursing certificate, and worked for Eastern Airlines, which led her to a career as a travel consultant. She greatly enjoyed her position, and it afforded her the opportunity to explore much of the world, having already experienced foreign cultures while living in Africa for a year. She also had the honor of singing for five years with her sisters Joyce, Evelyn and Jerri on the Jimmy Strickland television show, which aired on Jacksonville Channel 5, WJXT.

Terri was an avid reader, who also loved painting, crochet, cross-stitch and other crafts, as well as spending quality time with family and friends. Her little dog “Bella” was the light that kept her going for many years, especially during difficult times.

She was a devout Christian and shared her faith with her friends at the Advent Christian Village, who surrounded her with love, companionship and laughter.

She was preceded in death by her father Perry Clinton Lee, mother Ida Mae Lee, brother Ron Lee and her infant daughter Lisa Michelle. She is survived by her siblings Joyce Lookingbill (Bob), Lake City, Fla.; Ralph Lee (Elizabeth), Lake City, Fla.; Evelyn Hall, Middleburg, Fla.; identical twin sister Jerri Lee (widow of LTC Everett M Yon Jr.), O’Brien, Fla.; Millie Burnett (Bob); Carol Walbridge (widow of Starr Walbridge), Talmo, Ga.; and Rita Hingson (David), Live Oak, Fla. She is also survived by her children Jeff Summers, Sequim, Wash.; daughter Jennifer Keysar (nee Simpson) (Jeff) of Henderson, Nev.; her beloved grandchildren Trystan Cobb, Aryanna Wolfe and Alisha Keysar, and a host of friends and relatives.

She was cremated at ICS Funeral Services in Lake City, Fla. There will be a memorial service to reflect and celebrate her life and glorious homecoming at Advent Christian Village Chapel in Dowling Park, Fla. on on Aug. 8 at 11 a.m., officiated by Pastor Jack Jones.

The family has donated a power chair to the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in her memory. She will be laid to rest at Friendship Baptist Church in O’Brien, Fla. with her father and mother and her aunt Louise (“Weezy”). The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home for their kindness, love and support. She will be remembered by all for her love and devotion to her friends and family, and for being a light shining God’s love wherever she went.

“She always had a smile”.
