Police are investigating a stabbing which occurred in front of this home on 5th Street in Live Oak late Sunday afternoon.

Live Oak Police Chief Buddy Williams said the victim of the fatal stabbing was Alaina Szortyka, 22, Live Oak.

According to Williams, Szortyka and Casey Cason, 22, Live Oak, got into an altercation at Cason’s residence on 5th Street, which led to Cason fatally stabbing Szortyka in the neck. Williams said Cason was arrested for the incident.

Florida Department of Law Enforcement and Live Oak Police Department are investigating a stabbing that has left one person dead today in the city of Live Oak, LOPD Chief Buddy Williams said.
