Battle of the Bands, Late Night Session and Summer Kids Fest Weekend at Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park

Super charged weekends are nothing new at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park & Campground (SOSMPC) in Live Oak. However, this weekend may just exceed super charged. Friday night, July 24, is the 3rd Annual Battle of the Bands in the Music Hall with many bands signed up to battle it out for the $1,000 prize and two paid bookings on the Music Hall Stage. Saturday night will feature the tremendously talented Late Night Session Band shaking the rafters with its great country music.

But, that’s just the beginning, it’s also a free Summer Kids Fest Weekend. There will be super fun activities Friday and Saturday with prizes. Check-in is Friday night at 6 p.m. North Florida’s Largest Scavenger Hunt divided into different divisions begins at 8 a.m. Saturday, kids bingo at 7 p.m. Saturday along with watermelon eating contests, sack races, volleyball tournament, horseshoe tournament, campfire s’mores, learn to make campfire breakfast, best dressed camp site (summer theme), prizes and so much more sponsored by Camping World RV Sales. No admission charge.

Admission is free to the Music Hall Friday and Saturday night, doors for dinner at 6 p.m. with music beginning at 8 p.m. Get there early and enjoy karaoke with Teddy MacElvis Thursday night from 7 – 10 p.m. in the Music Hall. Doors open Thursday at 5 p.m. for dinner. Free admission.

The SOSMPC is located 4.5 miles south of Interstate 75 and 4.5 miles north of Interstate 10 at the beautiful Suwannee River off US 129 at 3076 95th Drive. Watch for our sign.
