On Saturday, July 11, the CoEd Lobos (Wolves) soccer team led by Coach Tomás Tovar, along with his wife Patricia Hernandez Tovar, won the High Springs CoEd 3V3 Soccer Tournament High School East Division.

They started tournament play at 8 a.m. and by 2 p.m. had won three games, winning their bracket play. By 3 p.m., they won the semi-final game and finished strong with an action packed final championship game at 4:30 p.m. after winning four hard fought games straight. The fifth game (championship game) went into triple overtime: Golden ball rule, then two rounds of penalty shootouts to take the win.

Team members Emanuel Tovar, Graham Jackson and Eric Cordona all made their triple overtime shoot out goal kicks to take the championship title. All the team members scored one or more goals during the five games of tournament play, even with TJ Tovar playing with a head cold and Blanca Vences playing with feet injuries. All the team members played their hearts out in 100 degree July summer heat.

Also, the CoEd Lobos (Wolves) Team all played soccer for Lafayette High School JV Soccer teams. The team received medals and tournament T-shirts for their tournament title.
