Florida Folk Festival Event Coordinator Elaine McGrath, who works for the Department of Environmental Protection/Division of Recreation and Parks at Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park in White Springs was honored on Tuesday, July 14, by the town of White Springs.
“Every year the Florida Folk Festival happens here in White Springs and this past year was no different,” said White Springs Mayor Rhett Bullard.
The 63rd Annual Florida Folk Festival held this past May was under the direction of McGrath, who was instrumental in bringing thousands of people to White Springs, including internationally recognized recording artists who provided a significant cultural and economic stimulus to the town and surrounding areas, according to a proclamation from the town.
The proclamation also states in part that the town of White Springs appreciates McGrath’s “countless hours of intense dedication and service.”
