WARNER ROBINS – James H. “Jim” Moore, 75, joined his Lord and Savior in Heaven on Saturday morning, August 29, 2015. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 1, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel Funeral Home & Crematory. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 in Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel with Dr. Bob Dilks officiating. With military honors, PO2 Moore will be laid to rest in Andersonville National Cemetery.

Jim was born on September 24, 1939 in Valdosta, Georgia to the late Henry J. and Gertrude Moore. Strong in his faith, he was a longtime member of Central Baptist Church of Warner Robins. With pride and honor, Jim served his country in the United States Navy. After his Navy career, he taught Aircraft Mechanics at local colleges. He and his wife Florence were the original co-owners of PoMo’s BBQ and together they also owned Corral Classic Daycare. Jim retired from Zantop Airlines where he dedicated many years of faithful employment as an Aircraft Maintenance Mechanic and Supervisor. Jim was a loving, caring man of strong integrity, with a heart of gold. Post retirement, he utilized those attributes in the funeral industry for over a decade; he formerly worked at McCullough Funeral Home and was most recently employed as a Funeral Attendant at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. Jim’s absence on earth will surely be missed by all who knew and loved him. He loved to make others laugh and enjoyed storytelling. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, attending church, and especially loved spending time with his loving family, doting grandchildren, and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his beloved bride, Florence Johnson Moore.

His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Leah Rowe (Ricky), Valdosta; Jeff Moore (Tracy), Milledgeville; Chuck Moore (SaBess), Calhoun; Keith Moore (Heidi), Kathleen; brother, Larry Moore, Valdosta; brother and sister in law, Warren and Glenda Johnson, Perry; 12 grandchildren, and so many other loving family members and friends.
