The founder of the Florida Quilt Trail, Stephanie Metts, pictured here, stopped by Heritage Park and Gardens on Wednesday, Sept. 23, to spread awareness about the numerous economic, cultural and historical benefits to Live Oak joining the trail. The Florida Quilt Trail is a series of stops at historic or significant buildings throughout North Florida on which a large painted wooden quilt block is placed along with plaques describing the building’s history and quilt block’s meaning.
The currently in-the-works Live Oak branch is headed by Caroline Leonard, who is asking business and community members to consider donating their time, skills, resources or exterior building space to further the trail’s presence in Live Oak.
