Eleanor Turner Hinson

Sept. 28, 2015

Eleanor Turner Hinson, 90, went home to her Lord and Savior on Sept. 28, 2015, where she was reunited with her beloved husband of 67 years, Warren Lee Hinson.  Eleanor is survived by her three children: Deborah Hinson Sharpe (David) of Branford, Fla.; Robert “Bob” A. Hinson (Colleen) of Stuart, Fla.; Cheryl Hinson Yurke (Gary) of Bell, Fla.; eight grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren; and her sister, Rena Jo Smith. Mrs. Hinson is predeceased by her parents, William and Rena Turner and her brother, William Turner, Jr.

Eleanor and Warren moved to Bell, Fla. after Warren retired. For years, they enjoyed growing gardens and sharing the bounty with their friends and neighbors. Her home was always open and over the years, she mothered many who needed love and guidance in their lives. She and Warren loved to travel in their RV, connecting with old friends and making new ones. They were members of Spring Ridge First Church of God in High Springs, Fla.

Mrs. Hinson was an accomplished artist who enjoyed oil painting. Before each busy day, Eleanor faithfully spent time with her Lord in Bible study and prayer. She leaves behind boxes of journals filled with her thoughts and prayers…words of wisdom and earnest petitions of a Godly woman on behalf of her family and friends. This quiet and simple woman was truly a friend of Jesus.

The family will receive visitors at a visitation on Friday, Oct. 2, 2015 between 6-8 p.m. at Evans Carter Funeral Home, 220 North Main Street, High Springs, Fla. 32643. The funeral service is scheduled on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015, 12 p.m. at Spring Ridge First Church of God, 5529 NE 52nd Place, High Springs, Fla. 32643, 386-454-3600.

Arrangements are under the care of Evans Carter Funeral Home, 386-454-2444.
