VALDOSTA – A Tifton man claimed Monday he was the target of extortion from a prostitute who threatened to expose him if he did not pay her more money.
The man called the Valdosta Police Department to report the incident which allegedly occurred Oct. 29 at a Valdosta hotel on North Ashley Street. He reportedly told police he met the woman online, reports stated.
“The male indicated money was exchanged for the sexual encounter and that the female contacted him at a later date demanding additional money,” said VPD Capt. Bobbi McGraw. “The female threatened to expose the sexual encounter if he did not pay her additional funds.”
While investigating the incident, officers determined the request for additional funding occurred in another jurisdiction.
“No in-person contact was made with the complainant. No arrests were made,” McGraw said.
