Huey M. Moore, 80, of Valdosta, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016.
He was born in Berrien County on Nov. 8, 1935, to the late Leonard P. and Grace Sirmans Moore and had lived in Valdosta most of his life. Mr. Moore was a member of Bemiss United Methodist Church where he enjoyed participating in his Reflections Sunday School Class. He retired after 30 years of service from the Norfolk Southern Railway and enjoyed attending the Retired Railroad Breakfast Club. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, hunting and gardening.
Survivors include his wife, Imogene (Jean) Moore of Valdosta; son and daughter-in-law, Hal J. and Kathy B. Moore of Valdosta; daughter, Jessica Lynn Alexander of Lake Wylie, S.C.; granddaughter, Morgan Elizabeth Alexander of Lake Wylie, S.C.; sister, Myrt Ballard of Boise, Idaho.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016, at the Bemiss United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ed Thomas and the Rev. Doug Mays officiating. The family will receive friends today, Jan. 9, 2016, from 5-7 p.m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
Mr. Moore will be cremated following his services and no formal graveside burial will be held.
