Jean Sayers

Jean Sayers, 81, of Valdosta, passed away at her residence on Jan. 10, 2016.

She was born Sept. 14, 1934, in Radcliff, Ohio to the late Nathan and Della McKinney Jordan. Mrs. Sayers had lived in this area since 1960.

She was a former nurse and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In her spare time enjoyed cooking and sewing. She was fun loving and adored her family.

Mrs. Sayers is survived by her two sons and one daughter-in-law, Gregg and Martha Sayers of Valdosta, Jim Sayers of Vinton, La.; five grandchildren, Scott and Donna Sayers of Quitman, Chuck Jr. and Kellie Sayers of Rockledge, Fla., Gretchen Sayers of Los Angeles, Calif., David Sayers of Valdosta, Dylan Sayers of Duson, La.; one great-grandchild, Sammie Sayers of Rockledge, Fla.; several nieces and nephews and a large extended family. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Byron David Sayers; three sons, Chuck, Marshall, and Grant Sayers.

Services for Jean Sayers will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016, in the chapel at Carson McLane Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Cat Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
