Herman Richard “Ricky” Cooper, 65, of Hahira, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2015, at South Georgia Medical Center.
He was born on Feb. 13, 1950, in Hahira to the late Herman and Gladys Stalvey Cooper and was a lifelong resident of Hahira. Mr. Cooper was a retired mechanic and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed riding Harley motorcycles, restoring old tractors and racing.
Survivors include his sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Ronnie Warren; his brothers and sister-in-law, Stan and Janet Cooper, Tim Cooper, all of Hahira; his puppy that he loved, Tater; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016, in the chapel of Martin/McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Boykin and Mr. Jackie Cole officiating. Burial will follow in Fellowship Cemetery in Cecil. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
