Lenora Cooper

Lenora Cooper, 89, of Valdosta, formerly of Adel, passed away Jan. 19, 2016, at Langdale Hospice House in Valdosta. 

She was born on Sept. 18, 1926, in Cook County to her late parents, Frank Vinson Pilcher and Lebbie Hiers Pilcher.

She was a member of the Cook County Exchange Club, Woodmen of the World, and Springhead Baptist Church. She was a retired machine operator for Metal Products where she and her late husband, Howard Cooper, worked for many years.

Mrs. Cooper is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Billy R. and Kate Bennett of Valdosta, Jerone and Sandra Bennett of Adel; five grandchildren, Tom Bennett, Steve Bennett, Marcie Bennett, Charon and Scott Benjamin, and Chad Bennett; three great-grandchildren, Hanna Bennett, Taylor Benjamin, and Mikkel Benjamin; five sisters and a brother-in-law, Flora Mae Wilson of Lake Charles, La., Jean Karboski of Longview, Wash., Lorene Long of Summerville, S.C., Irene Taylor of Lebanon, Ill., Fran and Dick Pollard of Summerville, S.C.; and a special friend and sister-in-law, Louise Putnal of Adel. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Cooper; two brothers, Junior and Hubert Pilcher; and an infant sister, Delores Pilcher.

The funeral service will take place Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Boone Funeral Home with the Rev. Joey Taylor officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service.

Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
