Inez Cason Carter Brown
July 9, 1926
Inez Cason Carter Brown was born July 9, 1926 in Suwannee County, Florida to the late Mr. Henry J. and Mrs. Annie Bezzard Gaines Cason. She attended Suwannee County public schools. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Bethlehem A.M.E. Church in the McAlpin, Florida community.
In 1947 Inez married Mr. Buck Carter who preceded her in death in 1994. To this union three children were born; Shirley, Nancy, and Buck, Jr. In 1996 Inez married Luther Warren Brown who preceded her in death in 2008. From this marriage, she leaves her stepchildren; Charles, Chocolate Chip, & Luther, Jr. to mourn. She had a total of 25 brothers and sisters who preceded her in death. Inez also leaves to mourn her daughter, Shirley Ricks, nine grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and close family and friends.
The wake will be held Friday, Jan. 29, (tonight) from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Triumph Holiness Church. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30, at Triumph Holiness
Church. Bennie Thomas Funeral Home is in charge of all the arrangements.

Ricky Gardner, 56, Live Oak, Fla., passed away on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016. Mr. Gardner is survived by his motherInez Cason Carter Brown, Ricky Gardner, Corporal Stephen Allen Fox, Arthur Donald “Don” Cooper, Johnny Lowell Jackson, Richard “D.J.” Jones: Pat Gardner, Live Oak, Fla.; daughter: Heather Cumbie, Burlington, Okla.; son: Justin Gardner, Gainesville, Fla.; sisters: Teresa Dibble, Zephyrhills, Fla., Cindy Gardner, Live Oak, Fla.; brother: Tracy Odom, Kingsland, Ga.; two grandchildren: Brianna Cumbie and Kaylee Mae Cumbie.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, at Bible Baptist Church with Rev. Luther Kirby officiating. In lieu of flowers condolences can be sent to the family at 627 SW Dexter Street, Live Oak, Fl 32064.

Corporal Stephen Allen Fox
July 22, 1991 – Jan. 24, 2016
Stephen Allen Fox, of Branford, died Jan. 24, 2016 as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was born July 22, 1991 in Coral Springs, Florida, the son of Christopher and Merian Fox. He attended Bell High school and graduated in 2009, where he was a member of JROTC and achieved the rank of cadet Captain, Weightlifting where he placed 1st in districts, football and the Criminal Justice Club. He was enrolled at Santa Fe College majoring in business management. He was a member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church and later Cornerstone Baptist Church and a very active member of the youth program.
Stephen was a member of the United States Marine Corps starting June 1, 2010, and attended Parris Island, S.C., member of Platoon 2056, Company H, 2nd recruit training battalion and graduated on Aug. 21, 2010. His job was Landing Support Specialist out of 2nd BTO, Company B, 4th LSB, 4th MLG on Hunter Army Air Field in Savannah, Georgia. He achieved his highest rank of Corporal after four years of service and completing all necessary training. His NCO responsibilities included mentoring and leading junior Marines in his unit.
Stephen is survived by his parents: Christopher and Merian Fox of Branford, Fla.; his brothers: Airman First Class Joshua Fox of Tucson, Ariz.; Eric Fox of Branford, Fla., Corporal Brian Bolender and Edward Bolender both of Gainesville, Fla. He also leaves his maternal grandmother, Precilla Moreno, of Los Angeles, Calif.; and his paternal grandmother, Doris Fox of Pompano Beach, Fla. He is also survived by several close friends, aunts, uncles and cousins.
The viewing will be Friday, Jan. 29, from 6-9 p.m. at Corner Stone Baptist Church in Fort White, Fla. The funeral will be held on Saturday, Jan. 30, at 10 a.m. at the Branford First Baptist Church Christian Life Center in Branford, Fla. Interment will follow in Townsend Cemetery in Gilchrist Co, Fla. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to the Semper Fi fund.

Arthur Donald “Don” Cooper

Arthur Donald “Don” Cooper, 76, of McAlpin, Florida, passed away Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016.
A celebration of life/memorial will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016, at Cooper Farms.
Don is survived by his wife of 52 Years Laura Lyles Cooper; his two brothers William “Bill” (Marilyn) Cooper and Sam (Carol) Cooper of Indiana; his five children, Donna (Craig) Ragan, Lisa (Dean) Phillips, Arthur D. Cooper Jr., Guy (Sandra) Cooper, and Steve (Angela) Cooper; son-in-law Leo “Butch” Seiling and daughter-in-law Carrina Cooper. Don was also a loving grandfather to 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Don is predeceased by his parents Victor and Mary Samuelson Cooper and granddaughters Mary Grace Cooper and Tanya L. Phillips.
Don farmed his entire life – first by renting property for a cattle operation in Miami-Dade County and he then purchased the current farm in McAlpin in 1972. He was a member of Florida Farm Bureau and the Suwannee County Cattleman’s Association. He enjoyed fishing and showing cattle.

Johnny Lowell Jackson, age 67, of Jasper, departed this life Jan. 22, 2016, at his residence in Jasper, Florida.
Lowell, as he was affectionately called, will be greatly missed by his family and all that knew him. Home going celebration is to be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016 at the New Bethel A.M.E. church where the Rev. Gary Slaughter is the pastor and Rev. Desi Nixon will officiate. Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery Annex. The Jackson family will receive other relatives and sorrowing friends from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
