Sylvia (Syl) Slocum, 72, of Valdosta, died suddenly on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016, after a period of declining health. A graveside service will be held for Sylvia at 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 1, 2016, at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Bob Willis will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m.. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Mailbox Club, 404 Eager Road, Valdosta, Ga., 31602.
