Shands Live Oak Regional Medical Center names permanent CEO

Bayode Omosaiye has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Shands Live Oak Regional Medical Center. Omosaiye joined the hospital in February this year as interim CEO.
He brings nearly two decades of hospital leadership experience to the role. His career with the Bayfront Health System began in 2011, where he served as Chief Operating Officer of the hospitals in Brooksville and Port Charlotte. As COO, he oversaw hospital operations, clinical departments including surgical services, cath lab, laboratory and radiology, supporting departments such as nutritional and environmental services, as well as physician practices and physician recruitment and retention.

“Bayode is a strong leader who has helped us sustain efficient and effective operation of our network hospitals,” said Rhonda K. Sherrod, Market Chief Executive Officer. “He will work closely with employees and members of the medical staff to serve our patients and communities with quality healthcare services.”
Over the course of his tenure with Bayfront Health, Omosaiye has successfully completed a $25 million construction project at Port Charlotte to expand the facility from 219 to 254 beds and add the Heart Institute for Open Heart Surgery; implemented a robotic assisted surgery program; and provided executive leadership supporting the delivery of quality care.

Omosaiye previously worked with acute and behavioral health hospitals on Florida’s east coast in Tamarac, West Palm Beach and Miami. He holds a Master’s in Business Administration and bachelor’s degree from St. Thomas University. A fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, he has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the YMCA in Port Charlotte.
