Berrien County school bus struck by truck, driver charged

NASHVILLE, Ga. — A Berrien County man is facing charges after striking the rear of a stopped school bus at 7:20 a.m. Thursday, authorities said.
Trooper B. Taylor, with Georgia State Patrol Post 13 in Tifton, said the school bus was properly stopped on Highway 125 South to load kids when the left front of a truck with company Rest EZ Waste Pickup of Nashville, driven by 32-year-old Tyler Tyson, struck the right rear of the bus.

He said the accident occurred about a minute or two after the bus had stopped, according to witnesses. Minor injuries were reported by two students, a 14-year-old male and a 16-year-old female.
Tyson will be charged with following too close and not wearing a seat belt, authorities said.
