Youth rodeo finals to take place this weekend

QUITMAN – The Georgia Florida Youth Rodeo will host its first finals Saturday and Sunday.
Participants range in age from 3 up to 19 with approximately 50 participants competing for $12,000 in awards.
Typical rodeo events will be held, including roping and riding.
The rodeo will begin each day at 10 a.m. and is expected to last anywhere from 2 to 4 hours, according to Serena Johnson of Georgia Florida Youth Rodeo.
A rodeo queen and princess contest will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday. Contestants will have a one-on-one interview, give speeches, answer a rodeo related question followed by a reining pattern.
All awards, including the crowning of the queen and princess, will take place Sunday.
A special cowboy church service will be held Sunday as well for those who wish to attend.
The rodeo will be held at J2 Arena, located at 125 Roberts Road in Quitman.
