THOMASVILLE, Ga. — Meigs has been the scene of several burglaries in recent days. Nothing appears to be taken in two incidents, but that was not the case in a third burglary.
An owner of a restaurant on East Depot Street told a Thomas County Sheriff’s Office deputy someone broke a window at her business and a glass door was damaged. Two bricks were found on the floor inside the business.
Noting appeared to be missing from the building, authorities said.
“We have the bricks as evidence,” said Lt. Tim Watkins, sheriff’s office chief investigator.
The owner of a pool hall on South Church Street was alerted by a neighbor that someone was breaking into his business. The owner went to the business before calling 911 and found a damaged front door that looked as though someone had tried to kick it open, according to reports.
Again, nothing appears to be missing from the business.
An East Crawford Street residence told investigators the front door to his house was kicked in, and electronics valued at $1,500 are missing.
The resident reported three televisions, two computers, an Xbox One and a VHS recorder were reportedly stolen.
