Driver charged with DUI

WHITE SPRINGS – A White Springs man was arrested for driving under the influence after a wreck on Monday, July 27 in Hamilton County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
According to the report, John Henry Allen, 50, of White Springs was traveling south on SE County Road 25A around 6:25 p.m., when he drove off the west shoulder.
He overcorrected causing the car to rotate counterclockwise direction across the road into the east shoulder, the report states.
According to the report, the front right of the car struck the ground wire for a power line, causing the power pole to break. The car then struck a tree and came to a final rest off the east shoulder.
Allen received no injuries, according to FHP.
Allen was arrested for driving under the influence and failure to drive in a single lane, the report states.
