VALDOSTA — Book and Table opened Wednesday, adding one more unique business to the downtown landscape.
Book and Table is a bookstore with a kitchen offering a variety of foods and coffee.
Mike Orenduff, owner, spoke briefly on what a book means.
“They are the most important invention of the human race,” he said. “With it, we can know the thoughts and feelings of any person.”
Books do not have harmful chemicals, need batteries, require towers or electricity, Orenduff said.
The grand opening was accompanied with several free samples of food, including smoked salmon, cooked dates, kipper on cucumbers, pizza bites and blueberry muffins.
All of the food is prepared in-house and ingredients are local, said Orenduff.
“No food truck comes here,” he said.
Book and Table is located at 120 N. Patterson St., in Downtown Valdosta. It is open 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
