Eddie Duncan, 61, of Valdosta has been charged with making terroristic threats.

Telephone threats against Valdosta Police officers ended with the intoxicated suspect being arrested without incident at a housing complex late Saturday, authorities said.

According to authorities, the black male called 911 from Perimeter Crossing Condominiums, 3412 N. Forrest St., saying he was going to shoot “a bunch of police.”

The 911 operator called the number back after the caller hung up and the suspect repeated the threats.

Authorities traced the call to the Perimeter Crossing condos, near Valdosta High School, and began evacuating the complex as a safety precaution. After other units were evacuated officers approached the home where the call came from with a bullhorn, ordering the occupants to come outside.

According to Valdosta Chief of Police Brian Childress, a man, a woman and young teenager exited the condo in a non-threatening manner and told officers the man the police identified as the caller was upstairs in the condo.

According to Childress, the suspect was taken into custody without incident. No shots were fired. No one was injured, the chief said.
