Horne Learning Center gives supplies to students

VALDOSTA — Maceo A. Horne Learning Center hosted its first Back To School Blitz Wednesday afternoon.
“We rallied with the community to support parents, teachers and students,” said Horne Learning Center Principal Keith Hose.

Each vendor brought along school supplies to hand out for free while chatting with students and parents.
Vendors for the event included Stevens Funeral Home, Touch of Class Beauty and Spa, TEACH Outreach Ministries, Tangela Rowe, Valdosta Fire Department, Liz Interiors Fashions and More, Big Nick’s, Ace of Fades Barber Shop, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Moody AFB, 100 Black Men of Valdosta, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Valdosta Electric Company, Crosspointe Church, Tabernacle COGIC Church, Harmons Awards and Screen Printing, Spirit Screen Printing, BOS Motorcycle Club, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Great Start Program, Horace Mann and Valdosta Teachers FCU.
This event also served as the school’s open house.
“We wanted to think outside the box, provide resources and prepare students for success,” Hose said.
