She has served both her local club and the council of which the club is a member in a variety of capacities, both chairing and serving on numerous committees, and holding a variety of offices through the years.

Also honored was Mark Crawford, a long-time friend of the Amaryllis Garden Club, and to plant-lovers everywhere, according to the club.

The owner of Loch Laurel Nursery in Valdosta, Crawford has hosted numerous garden clubs and other groups with tours of his gardens, which feature camellias, and has given gardening programs locally and throughout the country.

He is also the president of the Valdosta Camellia and Garden Club.
