The Big Red Bus will be at Sunrise Healthcare Center, 2709 S. Main St., 1-3 p.m. and at Wal-Mart, 641 Veterans Parkway S.E., 4:30-6:30 p.m. On Tuesday, OneBlood sent an email urging people with O Negative blood to donate as soon as possible. Price is right: Money rules to live by
TIFTON, Ga. – No matter how much or how little money you have, making ends meet is often a challenge. These simple rules will help you to get more from you hard-earned money. Set goals. Getting what you want out of life takes planning. Goals give you something to work toward and increase your chances for success. Save for emergencies, even if it is only a dollar or two. Like it or not, things happen. Setting money aside for these events makes them easier to handle when they occur. Spend less than you earn. Living within your means is the key to long-term financial success. Overspending leads to late fees and interest charges. A written plan for spending will help you to live on what you earn. Pay bills on time. Late payments are budget busters. In addition to extra charges for paying late, you may pay more in finance charges, now and for years to come. Make paying bills on time a priority to save money and to protect your credit rating. Use credit wisely. Paying cash is not always an option, but when possible it is a good idea. Avoid frauds and scams. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Protect your personal information to guard against identity theft. Items taken from Goodwill
THOMASVILLE, Ga. — Most people who arrive at Goodwill on U.S. 19 South put things into outdoor bins. However, surveillance video shows a woman back her vehicle up to donation bins and take items from the containers. She also took a tote cart before driving away. Thomasville police have a description of the vehicle and the tag number. Goodwill plans to press charges. The value of items taken is believed to be about $600. In other incidents, a man took a number of items from bins, placed them in his vehicle and drove away. Video shows the man taking things from bins each night from Aug. 10 to 15, with the exception of one night, Aug. 12. That night, the man rummaged through bin contents but left without taking anything. Again, police also have a vehicle description and tag number.
