MOULTRIE, Ga. — Census records are one of the most popular and useful genealogical research sources available. In fact, many genealogists begin their research using census records. Since 1790, United States censuses have been taken once every 10 years. This tradition is still in practice today.
On Saturday, Sept. 17, from 10 a.m. to noon, the Moultrie-Colquitt County Library will host a workshop, “Time Travel Using Census Records.” It is intended for those who have already begun researching their family tree. Participants will learn the basics of searching the census online, as well as what censuses are available, what information you can find in them, and how to apply them to your family search.
This session is free and open to the public. No registration is required.
