White Oak Dairy named Farm Family of the Year

MAYO — The Lafayette County Farm Bureau held its annual membership meeting at the Mayo Community Center with over 95 members and guests attending on Sept. 12. Those in attendance enjoyed a great chicken and rice dinner with all the fixings.
The highlight of the evening was announcing the 2016 Farm Family of the Year, which was White Oak Dairy.
The owners of the dairy are Ryan Sullivan and Jared Moseley.
White Oak Dairy began operation on October 10, 2002.
Currently the farm includes milking cows, raising heifers, growing forages for feed and growing peanuts.
The dairy is currently expanding with the addition of a new barn and parlor.
Farm Bureau wishes to congratulate both of these fine families for being the Farm Family of the Year for 2016.
Several legislative official officials were present as well as guests from the Suwannee River Water Management District who spoke a few minutes to the member.
Also in attendance was Kevin Morgan from the state office in Gainesville to recognize the recipients of the Florida Farm Bureau Tobacco Scholarships.
