VALDOSTA — Fire caused an estimated $400,000 to an automotive shop, according to a report from the Valdosta Fire Department.
Shortly after midnight Thursday, 27 VFD firefighters responded to the blaze reported at Brimmage Automotive, 3272 North Valdosta Road, according to reports.
“Fire personnel arrived to find a commercial structure with flames and smoke discharging out of the southwestern corner of the structure,” according to a report from VFD Fire Marshal James A. Clinkscales. “There was a second alarm called for additional units and fire personnel. Initial fire crews made a quick aggressive attack to extinguish the flames, while other fire crews completed a search of the structure.”
Firefighters arrived within five minutes of the initial call, he said.
Once the main blaze was extinguished, firefighters worked “salvage and overhaul of the structure” to put out any hidden flames.
No injuries were reported.
Clinkscales said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
