Park Avenue UMC holds annual bazaar

VALDOSTA — The elves at Park Ave UMC have been busy making items for a bazaar that will be held on Saturday, Nov. 12, from 9 a.m.- 2. p.m. at Park Avenue United Methodist Church, 100 E. Park Ave.
There will be lots of new items this year including Crismons — handmade ornaments for home Christmas trees, Waterford Crystal, Lynn Chase china and other crystal and china. There will be a vintage shop featuring linens and china and Barbie size doll clothes and American Doll size clothes, all handmade by Elsie Workman.
Organizers said so much will be available, “all the way from trash to treasure to unique boutique: hot chocolate mix, spiced tea mix, country store with homemade preserves and pepper sauce, frozen casseroles and cooked meat.”
There will be a jewelry shop with lots of items including necklaces, rings, bracelets, pins and Christmas jewelry.
“The sweet shop will feature homemade cakes, pies, brownies, cookies; all baked goods by members of our church. There will also be a candy shop with an assortment of fudges, pralines and brittles,” a church member said.
The Christmas shop will have baskets, wreaths, ornaments, Christmas gifts and the Crismons ornaments.
Lunch will be available, including chicken pie, salad, grilled cheese sandwiches and desserts. Soup will be served from 11a.m. to 1 p.m.
The church is inviting the community to attend.
