MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. — The awards and accolades keep rolling in for Baldwin High School senior Malik Clark as he has recently been named to play in the Georgia Athletic Coaches’ Association (GACA) North/South Football Classic.
This announcement comes on the heels of Malik being named GHSA Region 3-AAAA defensive player of year for his outstanding performance in his final season of high school football. The University of Louisville commit will suit up against the best athletes in the state as players have been selected from schools across public school classifications.
“The hard work and dedication in which Malik has devoted to the football staff/team, Baldwin High School, and the Baldwin community has truly been appreciated over his four year span here,” said Lee Hannah, Malik’s head football coach of the past three years. “We wish Malik nothing but the very best as he finishes his high school career and embarks on the next chapter in his life at the collegiate level.”
Clark’s numbers from his defensive end position in 2016 were 41 tackles, six assists, seven tackles for loss, four sacks, and four quarterback hurries. Those stats could have been higher, except for the fact that opponents know better than to run in his direction. That of course did not stop Malik from putting up the impressive numbers that he did and garnering the respect of coaches all around the state of Georgia.
The GACA North/South Football Classic is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 30 at 1 p.m. and will be held at Memorial Stadium in Columbus.
