Firefighters battle a fire that engulfed a Berrien County house Friday night.

RAY CITY – Berrien County and surrounding area firefighters were working to extinguish a house fire Friday night on Old Valdosta Highway, according to reports.

The two-story house was engulfed in flames. Early estimates claim the structure is a total loss, according to authorities.

The fire possibly started from an outdoor fireplace, according to initial reports.

The house is near the Lowndes-Berrien county line, on the road past Camp Tygart, said Lowndes County Sheriff Ashley Paulk.

No injuries have been reported in the blaze.
