THOMASVILLE, Ga. — A Thomas County man on the run since Thursday was captured midday Tuesday at a local residence.
Justin James Burton was taken into custody about 12:45 p.m. at the Phillip Lane residence of friends.
“He showed up at their house on a four-wheeler,” Louis Schofill, Thomas County/Thomasville Narcotics/Vice Division commander, said.
Law enforcement officers received a tip that Burton was inside the house.
“Some (officers) surrounded the house, and others went inside,” Schofill explained.
Burton appeared to be headed for a window to escape from the residence when he was caught by officers surrounding the house.
Lawmen inside the residence took the fugitive into custody and transported him to the Thomas County Jail.
