VALDOSTA — Northbound traffic on Bemiss Road was snarled Sunday night by a two-vehicle accident at Walker’s Crossing. A car heading east on Ga. 122 failed to yield the right-of-way while crossing the intersection with Bemiss Road and struck an SUV heading north on Bemiss, said Trooper First Class Corey Miller with the state patrol. Two people were in the car and six, including four children, were in the SUV, he said. There were no fatalities and only two complaints of minor injuries, one in each vehicle, Miller said. The state patrol, the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office and Lowndes County Fire Rescue responded to the incident. At 8:45 p.m., northbound traffic was being diverted into the parking lot of a nearby Dollar General.
