5th Annual African American Artists’s Festival, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Feb. 17; 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Feb. 18, Valdosta State University University Center, 1500 N. Patterson St. Festival include displays by local artists; mini work-shops, historical displays and presentations by local churches, organizations and fraternities and sororities; performances by local poets, singers, dancers, musicians, including local African drummers, African Dance Troupe “Village of Aya” and much more. VSU’s Honors Student Association and the  VSU Women of Excellence  hold “Dr. Seuss Day”, 3-5 p.m. March 2, Honors House located at 222 Georgia Ave. This event celebrates Dr.Seuss’s birthday and Read Across America Day.
