VALDOSTA — The Valdosta State University Alumni Association, in partnership with the Alumni Chapter of Valdosta, will present Wine and Swine 2017, 6-11 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, at Creekwater Farm.
An annual Blazer Nation tradition, Wine and Swine supports VSU’s efforts to recruit, retain, and graduate high-achieving students, according to a press release.
Proceeds from the event will benefit scholarships for Valdosta residents pursuing academic, creative, athletic, research, and service excellence as students at VSU.
Tickets are $25 per person and include admission to Wine and Swine 2017, all-you-can-eat barbecue and trimmings, a Southern s’mores bar, two drink tickets for wine and beer, and entertainment. Guests must be 21 years of age or older to attend, according to the press release.
Tickets may be purchased at http://www.valdostastate.org/wineandswine.
“I encourage our Blazer alumni in the area to make plans to attend this event, catch up with old friends, and make new friends, all while creating new opportunities for future Blazers to carry on the tradition of VSU excellence,” said Hilary Gibbs, associate VSU vice president for Development and Alumni Relations.
Creekwater Farm is located at 3226 Stallings Road. Wine and Swine 2017 is hosted by Glenn and Sherri Gregory, longtime friends of Blazer Nation. He studied visual arts at Valdosta State and serves as vice chairman of the Lowndes County Board of Education. Their daughter earned a bachelor of fine arts from VSU in 2001.
