LAKELAND, Ga. — Doug and Joan Hendrix of Nashville, Ga., and Bob and Kaye Joyce of Lakeland, Ga., announce the engagement of their daughter, Julia Hendrix of Lakeland, Ga., to Adam Brown, son of Don and Judy Brown of Fayetteville, Ark.

The wedding will be held Aug. 12, 2017 at Lakeland United Methodist Church, Lakeland, Ga.

The bride elect is the granddaughter of the late Frank and Christine Strickland, Lakeland, Ga.; Polly Hendrix and the late D.H. Hendrix of Evans, Ga.; Harris Register and the late Evelyn Joyce Register of Homerville, Ga.; and the late Chandler Joyce of Lakeland, Ga.

The future bride is a 2002 graduate from Lanier County High School; 2006 graduate from Valdosta State University with a Bachelor of Art and Sciences in Sociology Degree; and a 2008 graduate from the University of Georgia with a Master of Social Work Degree. She is employed by UGA Cooperative Extension as a 4-H County Agent for Lanier County.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Harold and Geraldine Boroughs of Cabot, Ark; the late Frank Wilson Brown, Jr.of Wilmington, N.C.; and the late Laurence and Cora Esch of Spalding, Neb.

The future groom is a 2008 graduate from Fayetteville High School; 2012 graduate from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Arts in History Degree; 2016 graduate from North Central University with a Master of Business Administration Degree. He is a Captain in the United States Air Force and is currently stationed at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, Nev.
