City council OKs purchases

THOMASVILLE — Thomasville City Council approved the purchase of equipment and vehicles, among other action, at a Monday meeting.
Purchases include:
• Mini-excavator for electric operations from MacKinnon Equipment and Service in Tifton for $53,174.55, with third-party financing if necessary.
• Materials for water meter project from Consolidated Pipe & Supply of Albany for $131,576.21, using 2017 water capital funds, with third-party financing. The material will allow for completion of automation of all water meters.
• Three crew-cab pickup trucks for solid waste for $28,582 each from Tallahassee Ford, Tallahassee, Florida, with third-party financing if required.
• A one-ton crew truck for the Natural Gas Department from Hub City Ford at Crestview, Florida, for $47,038.
• A half-ton pickup truck for the water department from Tallahassee Ford for $28,582.
In other business, the council:
• Transferred $2,100 in Local Option Sales Tex revenue for recreation to each of the six smaller municipalities.
• Transferred a package beer and wine license for Granny’s, 316 Smith Ave., to Bharatbhai Patel.
• Transferred a beer/wine consumption license at Moonspin Pizza, 113 N. Crawford St., to Allison Suzanne Cohenour and Joshua Wright Smith.
• Approved a permit application for a private, non-profit event on designated city property, allowing alcohol consumption at Due South on April 22.
• Approved eight pawn broker licenses for 2017.
