One more for Pitts

Thank you, Mr. Pitts, for your enlightenment. I didn’t know how stupid I was until I read your article, but I guess that’s how it is when you’re stupid. Fortunately for us, we have people like you to tell us when we are wrong, and how to think. What did I do all those years without your condescending advice?
Our country is split almost right down the middle between left and right. Your article titled ‘The Education Gap Between Left and Right’ was an insult to half the nation. I don’t think that was wise; I believe a person should have wisdom to go along with their intellect.
I truly appreciated what you said about your mother being wise even though she had a limited formal education. It reminded me of my father; he had only a third-grade education but he had wisdom, and I am thankful for that. I’m sure you are also thankful and proud of your wise mother. That proves you don’t have to have great intellect and formal education to have wisdom.
I laughed when I read, “Did the great Trumpkin really sign an executive order without knowing what was in it?” Do you really believe that? Even so, I was surprised you would bring it up, when to your great delight, President Obama and the entire Democratic Congress signed the Affordable Care Act, a.k.a. Obamacare, not knowing what was in it. Don’t you think you are being hypocritical?
It had over 20,000 pages with more on the way, and only a few days were allowed for reading it. Did you also know there was over an additional 11.5 million words of regulations written to implement it? That’s over 30 words of regulations for each word in the act itself. Let’s see, by my calculation that comes out to over 600,000 pages. Wow!
You must have forgotten that Nancy Pelosi, your Democrat leader, said, and I quote, “We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it …” Isn’t it great to have selective memory? Now you can see why I laughed.
Only one Republican in the entire Congress, House and Senate, voted for the act. Do you really believe that lone one was smart and all the rest are stupid or ignorant? Wait, don’t embarrass yourself by answering. How I wish we had more stupid Republicans, and fewer smart ones like the lone Republican who voted for the act.
You are so right when you say, “There’s an education gap between left and right, and it poses a grave threat to our national future.” Yes it does, and thankfully so. That’s because your idea of education is really indoctrination. The threat is that your future may not be what you and your liberal socialistic friends envision.
An example you bring up is misspelled words as though it’s a sign of ignorance or stupidity. I can see where it would appear that way, but I see misspelling by the left, the right, the educated, as well as the uneducated. I believe it’s becoming more of a problem because of texting.
Smart phones are having a major negative impact on society. Misspelling and abbreviations are the norm; because the phones are so small it’s easy to strike the wrong key. To correct it becomes more a problem of inconvenience and laziness rather than ignorance. Misspelling is becoming more and more acceptable.
It surprised me that the “knowledge-starved,” your words, Michele Bachman and Sarah Palin could reach such high governmental positions. Imagine that, one founded the Congressional Tea Party Caucus in the House of Representatives, and the other was governor of Alaska. No telling what they could have achieved had they been, as you say, “better educated.”
On the subject of indoctrination, you used polls to prove your point. The polls show that the more education a person has the more liberal they are. I believe that’s true, however, surely you are aware that approximately 10 of every 11 college professors are liberal and they are indoctrinating, in addition to, educating the next generation.
One thing we are in agreement on is that our educational system is broken and needs to be fixed. You are absolutely right that our kids need to learn how to think. I hope by that you really mean to think instead of being indoctrinated to think like a liberal.
