The bus — driven by Cathy Jo Reed, 54, of Live Oak — was traveling west on 138th street approaching the intersection with 189th Road, just off U.S Highway 51, at 3 p.m., the report states.
A 2003 Ford F150 driven by Jo Ann Carmichael, 81, of Live Oak, was nearing the same intersection while traveling south on 189th Road, according to the report.
The report states the school bus failed to yield the right way and struck the front of the F150 with its right side.
Both vehicles stopped in the intersection of the two roads with the bus facing west and the pickup facing south, according to the report.
Reed sustained minor injuries and was transported to Shands Live Oak Regional Medical Center, while Carmichael was not injured.
“We’re very grateful there were no life-threatening injuries,” said Ted Roush, superintendent of Suwannee County schools, who declined further comment until having a chance to see a report from the accident.
