Wild Blackberry Festival a success

JASPER — More than 1,000 people attended the seventh annual Wild Blackberry Festival on Saturday.
Event coordinator Jennifer Hand said she received a lot of positive feedback for the event.
She said more than 100 people participated in the fun walk/run this year. The John M. Caldwell Mason Lodge did more than 50 free child identity kits.
The winner of the antique/classic car show was George Hardy with his 1937 Dodge Business Coupe.
There were four contestants in the Miss Wild Blackberry Contest.
Cali Davis was crowned Tiny Miss Wild Blackberry. Deliala Hunter was crowned Petite Miss Wild Blackberry. Scarlett Viola Lattin was crowned Petite Miss Wild Blackberry runner-up. Jayden Lynn Lattin was crowned Little Miss Wild Blackberry.
Ted “Teddy Mac Elvis” McMullen and the Legends and local artists Halie Davis and DJ Ball performed.
The festival also had arts and crafts, a petting zoo, Birds of Prey, Mystic Jungle, a pet photo booth, vendors and lots of food.
