LAKELAND — Roadwork is scheduled to begin Friday on Ga. 11 in Echols and Lanier counties and Ga. 112 in Wilcox County, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.

Contractor Everett Dykes Grassing Co., Inc., will level and surface treat the routes, according to a GDOT statement.

The contractor will be working on 16.32 miles on Ga. 11 from north of Ga. 94 in Statenville in Echols County to south of U.S. 84/Ga. 38 in Stockton in Lanier County, according to the statement. In Wilcox County, the contractor will level and treat 12.14 miles on Ga.112 from north of Rochelle to the Pulaski County line. Work will be done during daylight hours.

This will require lane closures so drivers should expect delays.
