Businesses keep opening, moving and closing down in Valdosta. This column celebrates the local spirit of entrepreneurship that keeps our city fresh and growing by keeping the community informed.

Here is a list of businesses that have recently opened, closed and moved or that plan to open soon in the Lowndes County area.

ADEL

• The Adel-Cook County Chamber of Commerce met June 15 for a Business After Hours event at Horse Creek Winery in Sparks.

• Gander Mountain is located at 278 Norman Drive. The store is is an outdoor specialty store for hunting, fishing, camping, marine, apparel, footwear, shooting sports and outdoor lifestyle. Gander Mountain will be closing.

• Spot’s does not have a physical location. The business opened in May. Spot’s offers residential and commercial cleanup services. The business is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m., all week. Contact: 229-412-2471.

• Beautiful Curves Boutique is located at 1504 E. Park Ave. The business expects to open in July. Beautiful Curves sells plus-size/full-figured clothing as well as accessories. The business is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

• Azalea Lawn Care, LLC does not have a physical location. The business opened in May. Azalea Lawn Care, LLC offers lawn care, edging, trimming, weeding and similar services. The business is open all week, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. Contact: (229) 415-1621

• Grapevine Florist and Boutique is located at 707 E. Park Ave. The business opened in June. Grapevine Florist sells customized floral arrangements as well as jewelry, shoes and clothes. The business is open Monday – Friday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Contact: (229) 630-7447.

• Holy Smoke Barbecue is located at 2905 N. Ashley St. The business is estimated to open in July.
