THOMASVILLE — A Thomas County/Thomasville Narcotics/Vice agent was attempting to serve a warrant at a U.S. 19 South store when he said he detected suspicious activity at a business across the highway.
The officer saw a man with long hair coming out of a liquor store.
“The long hair caught my attention,” the officer said.
The man, Nicholas Joseph Ward, had a bag of purchases he put in the trunk of the vehicle he was driving.
The agent said Ward attempted to conceal something in his pants.
The agent followed Ward to Remington Avenue, where he pulled the suspect over.
“I realized he was under the influence of something,” the officer said.
A search of the vehicle produced a cigarette box containing six Xanax pills, along with Adderall, a stimulant.
“He admitted he had just purchased the drugs and did not have prescriptions,” the agent said.
Ward, 1141 Borden Lane, Whigham, is charged with possession of Schedule I and II substances.
