Businesses keep opening, moving and closing down in Valdosta. This column celebrates the local spirit of entrepreneurship that keeps our city fresh and growing by keeping the community informed.

Here is a list of businesses that have recently opened, closed, moved or that plan to open soon in the Lowndes County area.

VALDOSTA

• Trax convenience store and gas station is located at 1501 N. Ashley St. #B. The store is closing. However, the Zacadoo’s next door to the store will remain open.

• A & M Tire will be moving into the old CMC Tire building at 4119 Bemiss Rd.

• The Beanery plans to open a coffee bar at the new South Georgia Medical Center, expected to open in December.

• Crown Produce Market is located at 3950 Highway 41 North. The business opened in June. Crown Produce Market sells a variety of local produce. The business is open 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Contact: (229) 563-6335.

• Spot’s does not have a physical location. The business opened in May. Spot’s offers residential and commercial cleanup services. The business is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m., all week. Contact: 229-412-2471.

• Beautiful Curves Boutique is located at 1504 E. Park Ave. The business expects to open in July. Beautiful Curves sells plus-size/full-figured clothing as well as accessories. The business is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

• Azalea Lawn Care, LLC does not have a physical location. The business opened in May. Azalea Lawn Care, LLC offers lawn care, edging, trimming, weeding and similar services. The business is open all week, 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Contact: (229) 415-1621.

• Grapevine Florist and Boutique is located at 707 E. Park Ave. The business opened in June. Grapevine Florist sells customized floral arrangements as well as jewelry, shoes and clothes. The business is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Contact: (229) 630-7447.

• Holy Smoke BarBQue is located at 2905 N. Ashley St. The business opened June 28. Holy Smoke features barbecue, seafood, steaks, burgers, salads and other foods. The business also features a full bar and nightly live acts. Holy Smoke is open 11 a.m.-10 p.m. seven days a week. Contact: (229) 588-4755.

• Eager Pressure Washing has no physical location. The business opened in May. Eager Pressure Washing is open Monday through Friday 12-8 p.m., Saturday 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Eager Pressure Washing is a licensed and insured pressure washer that does pressure washing and concrete cleaning and general pressure washing. Contact: (229) 460-9265. 

• It’s Pop’n is located at 1571 Baytree Road. The business opened in June. It’s Pop’n is a popcorn and candy store that sells a variety of flavored popcorn and gourmet fudge. The business is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

• Avocado Mexican Grill is located at the Valdosta Mall, next to American Deli. The business opened in June. Avocado Mexican Grill is a Mexican restaurant. Avocado Mexican Grill is open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m.-9 p.m., Sunday, 1-6 p.m. Contact: (229) 502-1968.
