“We are off to a great start,” Ipina said. “Had a large number of students – 50 – attend our first drama meeting … This also created a welcomed problem: not enough seats on stage – 80 a night – prompting us to add an additional night.”

The Fall Cabaret will be presented 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, Saturday, Sept. 9, and Monday, Sept 11. Reservations required. Tickets are $25 and include dinner and the play, he said. To reserve seats, email ripina@gocats.org.

– VHS Theatre is also scheduled to attend the Georgia Theatre Conference, Oct. 12-14, in Carrollton.

– The VHS one-act play is scheduled to be presented on campus Thursday, Oct. 19, Monday, Oct. 23, Tuesday, Oct. 24, and will be in region competition Thursday, Oct. 26, on the VHS campus, Ipina said.

– VHS is adding a Madrigal Dinner, 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, and Friday, Dec. 1, Ipina said.

“A medieval dinner complete with a king and queen and his court entertained with Christmas music, dance, and masque as part of the evening,” Ipina said.

Reservations required. Ticket: $25.

– Spring Dinner Theatre is scheduled for Feb. 3 and 5, 2018. A third date might be added. The play will be named at a later date.

– The spring musical is scheduled for April 12-14, 2018. The musical will be named at a later date.

All shows are scheduled to be performed in the Valdosta High School Performing Arts Center, 3101 N. Forrest St.

Ipina said the year promises returning and new students.

“A completely different ensemble but very promising,” he said. “Looking forward to a very exciting year.”
