VALDOSTA — The world premiere of the South Georgia-produced film “Spook Bridge” has been postponed due to the potential impact of Hurricane Irma, according to RKDS Media, the movie’s producer.
Producer Roy Kirkland learned Mathis City Auditorium would be tagged as a shelter for residents needing assistance during Irma, according to an RKDS press release. The movie was scheduled to play three evenings at Mathis in the coming week.
The “Spook Bridge” world premiere is now scheduled for 7 p.m., Oct. 25-27, at Mathis City Auditorium, 2300 N. Ashley St.
Kirkland said October will actually be more fitting for a horror film.
“I hope everyone will understand that this situation is out of our control and that lives are much more important than anything else,” Kirkland said in a statement. “We thank you for your understanding as our thoughts and prayers will be with everyone during this uncertain time.”
People who have purchased tickets for the event are asked to go online and email a new date to attend at RKDSmedia@yahoo.com
The September Wednesday-Thursday-Friday tickets can still be used for Wednesday-Thursday-Friday tickets for October, he said.
