Lowndes defeats Valdosta in 4 innings

The Lowndes softball team scored six runs in the third inning en route to a 13-1 victory against the Valdosta Wildcats in four innings Thursday evening.

Rachel Wolverton batted a perfect 3 for 3 , scoring two runs while adding three RBIs and a double for the Vikettes (11-3) in their second straight win. Jacie Johns went 2 for 4 with a double, a triple, two RBIs and two runs scored. Rylin Hedgecock hit 2 for 3 with a home run, a triple and three RBIs while scoring two runs. Sophie Sumner was 2 for 3 at the plate with a double, a triple, two RBIs and a run scored. Madison May hit 2 for 3 with a double.

Ella Wilson, Mia Wilson and Ryleigh Musgrove had a hit apiece for the Wildcats (0-11).

Thursday’s game honored military members and first responders. Valdosta Fire Department Station 6 threw out the first pitch.
